The M2000 Underwater Modem is an underwater acoustic modem designed for reliable communication and scientific data acquisition in demanding subsea environments. Encased in a machined aluminum housing and depth-rated to 2000 m, the M2000 is ideal for vehicles, moorings, and research systems requiring robust construction, flexible integration, and dependable acoustic performance.

M2000 Features:

  • Long-Range Acoustic Communication: 1–8 km depending on conditions and modulation selected.
  • Flexible Data Rates: 80 bps to 10,240 bps depending on the selected modulation scheme.
  • Single Sideband Voice: Integrated analog SSB voice communications capability.
  • Precise Acoustic Ranging: Two-way acoustic ranging with accuracy better than <0.3 m.
  • 100 W Acoustic Output: High transmit power for demanding communication links.
  • Easy System Integration: Ethernet, RS-422, RS-232, and programmable Linux APIs.
  • Onboard Data Logging: High-capacity storage with waveform playback and recording capability.
